Meet Betty

Hi there! I’m Betty and I’m a very sweet mature lady who is ready to start a new chapter! I wasn’t in the best condition when I first arrived at the shelter, but I still LOOOOVEE people, and I would love to come home with you and give you all the snuggles on the lounge whilst we watch a movie! Or I’d love to have a nice nap in a round fluffy snuggle bed, they’re so comfy!  As you can probably tell, my legs look a little funny, don’t they? The technical name is “Angular Limb Deformity”, but you may also know it as ‘bow legged’ or ‘knee knocking’. They all mean that my legs are a bit bowed. The vets have checked me over, I can walk around normally, and I am not in pain, but it is important that I don’t become overweight in the future, as this can lead to arthritis. If at any point it seems like I am in pain when trying to walk, it would be best to take me to a vet for a check-up. Whilst I've been in RSPCA's care, I also had a biopsy performed on a lump on my mammary glands, which was a ‘Malignant mass’ (tumor), the tumor was completely removed with no abnormal tissue remaining. Should you be interested in adopting me, our RSPCA veterinarians are happy to provide you with more information.  My pearly whites just had an awesome clean and I had some teeth removed but there are no ongoing issues! So, sometimes I get a little bit worried about being on my own but with the help of my friends here at the shelter, I am starting to learn that some alone time isn’t such a bad thing! You see, all I’ll need is a nice long-lasting chew and something for me to do! I love playing with those cardboard boxes, especially if there’s some treats hidden in them! I have so much FUN when I get to go looking for treats hidden around the yard. Due to being a little Nanna dog, I won’t require lots of exercise, just enough to keep my mind active and sniff all the stuff and all the things!  I am a friendly dog but due to my excitement with making new friends, I will need to meet all my new friends to ensure we will get along! I’m sure we will though! I’ll also have to meet all members of the household, have secure fencing, indoor/outdoor access and ideally, I would love to have someone at home most of the time to hang out with in a peaceful, home environment.
